Not Medical Advice

The health calculators, tools, articles, reference ranges, and all other information provided on Daily Health Tools at dailyhealthstools.blogspot.com are intended for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this website constitutes, or should be construed as, professional medical advice, clinical diagnosis, or treatment recommendation.

⚠ Always seek the advice of your physician, nurse, or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, test result, or health concern. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read, seen, or calculated on this website.

Our tools cover a wide range of health topics including but not limited to: blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, BMI, calorie intake, macronutrients, pregnancy, heart rate, sleep, vitamins, and metabolic health. In all cases, the information provided is supplementary to -- not a substitute for -- qualified medical care.

Use these tools as a starting point for health education and informed conversations with your healthcare provider -- not as a basis for independent health decisions, medication changes, or treatment plans.

Calculator Accuracy and Clinical Formulas

Daily Health Tools uses widely recognised, peer-reviewed clinical formulas and established reference ranges from major health organisations including the American Heart Association (AHA), World Health Organisation (WHO), National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Diabetes Association (ADA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN).

Mifflin-St Jeor Equation
Used for BMR and calorie calculations across multiple tools. Validated as the most accurate equation for most adults.
AHA BP Categories (2017)
Blood pressure categories used in our Blood Pressure Checker based on 2017 AHA hypertension guidelines.
ADA Glucose Ranges (2024)
Blood glucose categories used in our Blood Sugar Checker based on ADA 2024 Standards of Care.
Framingham Risk Score
10-year cardiovascular risk calculation used in our Cholesterol Checker. Wilson et al., Circulation 1998.
WHO Child Growth Standards
Used in our Baby Weight Percentile Calculator based on WHO Multicentre Growth Reference Study.
Naegele's Rule
Used for due date calculation in our Pregnancy Calculator. Standard obstetric formula.
NIH Vitamin RDAs
Reference intakes used in Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Calcium, and Iron calculators.
ISSN Protein Guidelines
Used in our Protein Calculator and Macro Calculator based on ISSN Position Stand on protein and exercise.
✓ While we strive for accuracy, all calculation results are estimates only and should be confirmed with a qualified healthcare provider. Individual factors including medical history, genetics, medications, and concurrent health conditions can affect the accuracy and clinical relevance of any calculated result.

No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Using Daily Health Tools, accessing our calculators, reading our articles, or contacting us does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-patient, or any other professional healthcare relationship between you and Daily Health Tools, its owners, authors, or contributors.

We are not medical professionals, registered dietitians, licensed therapists, or certified health practitioners. We are a team passionate about making validated health information accessible and free. The results of our calculators should always be discussed with a qualified healthcare provider who knows your full medical history.

Particularly for tools covering clinical conditions -- such as our Blood Sugar Checker, Cholesterol Checker, or Diabetes Risk Score -- results indicating elevated risk or abnormal readings should prompt a conversation with your doctor, not independent treatment decisions.

Individual Health Variation

All health calculators, by their nature, use population-level formulas and reference ranges. Individual health is extraordinarily complex, and no formula can fully account for every person's unique physiology. Factors that can affect the accuracy and relevance of calculated results include:

  • Genetic factors: Conditions like familial hypercholesterolaemia, genetic metabolic disorders, or hereditary cardiovascular disease significantly alter clinical risk profiles beyond what standard formulas can capture
  • Medications: Many prescription medications significantly affect the parameters our tools measure -- blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, heart rate, and body composition
  • Concurrent health conditions: Kidney disease, liver disease, thyroid disorders, and other conditions alter normal reference ranges
  • Ethnicity and population: Many formulas were validated on specific populations. For example, the Framingham Risk Score may underestimate cardiovascular risk in South Asian populations. We note such limitations in relevant tool disclaimers
  • Age-related changes: Reference ranges for some parameters differ significantly across age groups, particularly for children, adolescents, and older adults
  • Pregnancy: Normal reference ranges change substantially during pregnancy for blood pressure, blood glucose, heart rate, and many other parameters

Our pregnancy tools, including the Pregnancy Calculator and Pregnancy Weight Gain Calculator, include specific disclaimers about individual variation during pregnancy.

5

Emergency Situations

If you or someone near you is experiencing a medical emergency, stop using this website immediately and call your local emergency services. Daily Health Tools is not designed for emergency medical situations and should never be used as a substitute for emergency medical care.

Signs of a medical emergency include: chest pain, pressure, or tightness; sudden severe headache; difficulty breathing or shortness of breath; sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg; confusion or altered consciousness; severe bleeding; suspected poisoning or overdose; extreme blood sugar readings (above 16.7 mmol/L or 300 mg/dL, or below 3.0 mmol/L or 54 mg/dL); blood pressure readings above 180/120 mmHg with symptoms.

Emergency contact numbers: 911 (USA and Canada), 999 (UK), 1122 (Pakistan), 112 (India and European Union), 000 (Australia). If you are unsure whether your situation is an emergency, err on the side of caution and call emergency services.

Advertising

Daily Health Tools is supported in part by advertising through Google AdSense. This allows us to keep all our calculators and health content completely free of charge for all users, with no premium plans, subscriptions, or paywalls.

Advertisements displayed on our website are served automatically by Google based on page content and user interests. The presence of an advertisement on Daily Health Tools does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or affiliation with the advertised product, service, or company.

We do not accept payment to feature specific products or services within our calculator results, educational content, or health recommendations. Our tools, reference ranges, and health information are developed entirely on clinical evidence, not commercial interests.

✓ Our health recommendations and calculator formulas are entirely independent of advertising. We will never recommend a product, supplement, or service in exchange for payment within our health content. If we mention a food, supplement, or approach, it is because the clinical evidence supports it.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Daily Health Tools, its owners, authors, contributors, and affiliated parties shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, this website or any calculator, tool, or content on it
  • Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in calculator results, reference ranges, or health information
  • Any health decision made based on information obtained from this website
  • Any delay in seeking professional medical advice because of information from this website
  • Any technical errors, service interruptions, or loss of data
  • Any content on external websites linked from this website

This limitation applies regardless of whether the damages are based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and even if Daily Health Tools has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Data Privacy and Calculator Inputs

Daily Health Tools is committed to protecting your privacy. All health data entered into our calculators -- including weight, height, age, blood pressure readings, blood glucose levels, cholesterol values, and other health parameters -- is processed entirely within your browser.

We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal health information entered into our calculators. No health data is sent to our servers. When you close your browser window, your entered data is gone. We cannot and do not access your health information.

Our website uses standard web analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns -- how many people visit, which pages are most popular, and which countries visitors come from. This analytics data is aggregated and anonymous and contains no personal health information.

For full details about how we handle data, cookies, and privacy, please read our Privacy Policy.

Population-Specific Limitations

Many clinical formulas and reference ranges used on Daily Health Tools were developed from studies conducted primarily on Western, adult, non-pregnant populations. We use the best available validated formulas for all our tools, but we acknowledge the following important limitations:

  • South Asian populations: The Framingham Risk Score (used in our Cholesterol Checker) may underestimate cardiovascular risk in South Asian individuals, who tend to develop heart disease at lower cholesterol and BMI values than Western reference populations
  • BMI limitations: The BMI formula (used in our BMI Calculator) does not distinguish between muscle and fat mass and may misclassify muscular individuals as overweight or obese. Different BMI cutoffs are recommended for Asian populations by WHO
  • Children and adolescents: Most adult formulas are not validated for use in people under 18. Our paediatric tools (baby weight, baby height) use specific WHO and CDC paediatric references
  • Older adults: Some reference ranges differ for adults over 65, particularly for blood pressure targets, protein requirements, and BMI thresholds. We note these differences in relevant tools
  • Pregnant women: Reference ranges for blood pressure, blood glucose, heart rate, and many other parameters change substantially during pregnancy. Pregnant users should rely on their obstetrician's guidance over calculator results

Changes to This Disclaimer

We reserve the right to modify, update, or replace this disclaimer at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. The date at the top of this page ("Last Updated") will reflect the most recent revision.

We also update our health calculators regularly to reflect changes in clinical guidelines.
